PLANS & PRICING
A team’s efficiency and productivity depends upon its leadership quality. Here are some tips on how you can be a better manager-
Communicate- Set clear goals and outline all tasks clearly. Make sure your team knows what they need to work on and how to go about it.
Motivate but don’t micromanage- Taking from the point above, make sure you motivate your team but don’t micromanage them- you’ve given them instructions and deadlines, now let them work in their own styles. Ask for regular updates, but don’t breathe down their neck while they work.
Treat them well- it’s important to treat your coworkers with respect and as human beings. They aren’t just placeholders doing assigned tasks. Find out what they like and don’t like, what their working style is, who are the important people in their lives. Be able to hold a conversation outside of work with them. Show them this respect and they will be happier with their work and thereby more efficient.
Be firm, yet understanding and gentle- Be firm while dealing with work matters, but realise that your employees are humans too. Listen to their concerns and suggestions and be open to change.
Give credit- Give credit where it is due and pull up your team members when you notice them slacking. Be liberal with praise and constructive criticism. Make sure your team knows that they will be given credit for their good work and pulled up when work is not up to the mark.
Practice what you preach- Most importantly, do what you say. Actions speak louder than words and your team will follow your example. Act how you would like them to and don’t be hypocritical.
