PLANS & PRICING
The interview process of applying for a job can be nerve-wrecking. But once you get the job, there are still some things you should keep in mind for your first day.
Be punctual: Make sure you prepare to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than you are expected. This will give you enough wriggle room in case you get stuck in traffic, or get delayed by unforeseen circumstances. If you are early, just wait at a nearby coffee shop and walk in when you were told to.
Smile: Smile and try to talk to as many people as you can. Create an elevator pitch that describes who you are and what you do for new people you meet. Remember their names and what they do.
Ask questions: Asking questions doesn’t mean that you are weak. It means that you are strong enough to understand when you don’t know something and what to do about it.
Understand the social landscape: Try to get a sense of what the work culture is. Office politics exist everywhere, you just need to learn how to navigate around them. The best way to try and do this is by talking to people. Talk to your co-workers and boss, be accessible and open to meeting new people.
Observe: Most importantly, take time to soak in what’s going on around you. Understand the structure, how communication works and what is the working style of your immediate coworkers and boss. Don’t try too hard to impress everyone, just do your best and remember to breathe!
