Here's what you can do-
Difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness- Understand the difference between assertiveness and aggressiveness. Being assertive includes asking for what you want clearly and confidently. Being firm in your speech and gentle in your behaviour is also included in being assertive. Being aggressive is not always a good thing. It can come off as rude and brash and may not get you the desired results.
Learn to ask for what you want- Women sometimes have a natural tendency to be gentle and go with the flow even if it is not what they wanted. It's time to change that. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and don't settle unless you get it. Be firm and confident in your ask.
Approach conflict and resolve it quickly and directly- If there is a conflict in your team, as team leader, take the initiative to resolve it. Don’t let negative feelings simmer. And don’t let team members be passive-aggressive about conflict. The best way is to approach it head-on and resolve the problem immediately.
Ask for feedback- Ask your peers for feedback. Make sure you are portraying the image you want to. Ask your mentors how to be more assertive and how to resolve situation-specific issues.
